Today, I received the approval notice in mail. However I did not get the physical cards. The notice says that I may have to do the biometrics again to get the but need not take any action at this time.
Received the "Card Production Ordered" email this evening at 6.30PM EST.

Hasnt the issue of processing order been beaten to death?
I understand the momentum here....not trying to rain on a parade or anything...but shouldnt we be a little practical. How long is litigation going to take? Wont only naive lawyers even take this up?
USCIS can always pull the security reason trump card here.
moreover, during the last quarter...in the effort to not waste visas, low hanging easy to approve cases with later priority dates have gotten approved. wudnt u rather have that than visas going waste?
We have been patient for a very long time....lets see how the dates move in the 1st 2 quarters of fiscal 09.
My personal suggestion....stop worrying aout GC...there are much bigger things in life to worry about. :)

I read this as moste h1 extensions are being denied, and think to myself, why are we so sruprised. The body shoppers abuse the system for such a long time, they had it coming to them. But so what, people who are being affected by this are the poor consultants themselves, who put all their trust in these body shoppers and in some cases paid high amounts to come to US. BOdy shoppers are not being affected by this in anyways. They should be fined if the US rejects an H1 for illegal hire. I just hope that consultants are given enough time to apply at other places.

I was lucky and I knew what the law stated about my criminal record. You can do all you want and be as blunt. USCIS doesn't have to answer to you. Stop chanting the "HIGHLY SKILLED", paying all taxes, nonsense. You were not brought to the USA at gun point. You chose to come (and stay). The USA can just put one ad in the newspaper anywhere in the world and there will be 10 million highly skilled NEW people they can bring. They do not need you (us). It is important to remember that we are not doing anyone a favor by being here except yourselves.
Again, because USCIS is so BIG and has millions of applications to process they can say they are trying their best and cannot reply to each individual.

The way i understand this, not all companies are bound by the EOE laws.
Certain conditions have to be met to be considered an EOE.
Not every employer is an equal opp employer, so those guys can hire whoever they want.
Besides hiring folks on h1b, etc could add to costs for employers. So they choose not to employ such folks.
I am working on EAD after filing AC21. When I requested for EVL more than once because of NOID situation, my HR was not happy about it. She said she cannot keep giving letters all the time and she also expressed such concern to my manager. My manager in turn told me "This is why we do not get into this stuff, we were not aware of all this when we hired you and we have a policy to hire only Green card and USC" - all of it was oral. When I went into our HR website - it clearly states that hiring needs to have "i9" compliance and thats it.
One thing we have to understand - employer can decide to hire who they want but must not discriminate.
Basically if employers are not willing to sponser they must have ads as "Non restrictive work authorization" required and if the job needs security clearance they must say "nly security clearance"
Looks like most HRs or companies may not be following such pattern because they may not know. When my wife was applying for jobs - some reqruiters did not understand EAD and she explained and they said "We need to learn more about this"

We finally got the CPO email for my wife and I today morning.
Had done all the follow-up like SRs, Infopass, Congressman inquiry. Not sure what worked.
After 10 years, we are finally greened. I sincerely hope for everyone who is current to be greened in time.

After doing research, I am thinking that my case may move to Texas Service centre. If I get SRC receipt number, it will be good. My I-140 can be processed within 4 months.
Since it reached before July 30 it can reach anywhere !
Though I would say pray for TSC !

On August 7, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. Just a small correction, we are not asking to end discrimanting against 'Indians'. It is asking to stop discrminating against anybody, be it Indian, Chinese etc...We are not asking for discriminating ROW. All we are asking is to end discriminating Indians.

I landed in Jan08 thru Windsor border in Michigan. I drove in my car to CA. You'll go to the immigration officer who'll check your landing docs, and then ask you to sign the landing document. Then show them the proof of funds. I had a cashier's check for the amount. Then you'll be asked for an address in CA. If asked tell them you are planning to settle at the address. If you say you are returning to US, they'll not give you the PR card saying when you come to live in CA they'll issue it. I made that mistake. They stamp your passport with the entry stamp. Without a PR card you can't enter CA at an airport. Your only option is driving to CA thru a land border. They'll let you in with just the stamp on the PP. Fortunately I live close to Windsor border.
As someone pointed out, you'll then go to customs, where they'll check the goods you are bringing or plan to bring later. There are 2 different forms for 'bringing goods with you' and 'goods to follow'. Make sure you fill in all the item in your home on the 'goods to follow' with some details like model number, etc. If you are not planning to live to CA, don't fill anything on the 'bringing goods form.

This is my first post here. Even though I've been a member for sometime, I wasn't even aware of these forums. When the July VB fiasco happened, I stumbled upon these forums and I was glued throughout the entire saga. U know what, IV was the only one who gave me any kind of HOPE. I am so thankful for what the IV core has done for us.
Its a shame that we all sit quietly and let someone else pay for our problems. After all, most of us have decent paying jobs here. So I too will pledge $ 100 and I am also going to contribute twds IV's cause.........
I hope more ppl will come forward and do the same.
Yes you are correct. We all have decent paying jobs and $100 is nothing compared to $64000. I hope more folks like you join this humble cause. Can the spread sheet be updated and posted again so that we can track it.

In my opinion, we need to have separate efforts for EB3 (now that EB3 I and EB3 ROW are in the same boat). If we have someone with leadership qualities and wants to use some social networking site for discussing EB3 issues and identifying approaches to solve the EB3 issues, there will be many EB3 folks willing to support the effort. Immivoice is just useless portal, it doesn't have open forums and the core folks here don't care for EB3. In fact, their lobbying efforts were behind USCIS changing the rule for spilling over the unused visa numbers to EB2 first. Just my 2 cents.
